Pinto: Saturday, May 19, 2012Braves 5 vs Yankees 19The #6 seeded Yankees came out strong against a Braves team that has struggled throughout the season. The Yankees defense shutdown the Braves in the 1st three innings and 5-runned them in the 3rd, 4th and 5th innings. The final score: Braves 5, Yankees 19. A's 5 vs Cubs 10 The #10 seeded A's gave the #7 seeded Cubs a lot to worry about. After 3 innings Coach Rocky's A's were leading by one run despite Ryan Bognaski putting one over the fence for his first homerun of the year. The Cubs were able to pull ahead in the 4th and put up another 5 runs in the 5th to secure their win. Final score: A's 5, Cubs 10. Dodgers 16 vs Mets 6 The #4 seeded Mets were looking for a repeat of their mid-season victory over the #5 seeded Dodgers. The Dodgers had different ideas. Coach Hemmis's team held the Mets to only 1 run every inning. The final score: Dodgers 16, Mets 6. Rangers 5 vs Red Sox 18 The Red Sox showed Coach Bolling's 8th seeded Rangers what it takes to go undefeated for an entire regular season - big bats and a shutdown defense. Jake Tone went yard for his first home run on the Pinto field contributing to the 13 run deficit over the Rangers. Final score: Rangers 5, Red Sox 18. |
