Fall softball got off to a good start at RGMVM Little League this season. The Fall league is run in conjunction with the Greater Ridgewood Youth Council. The weather was beautiful and the girls had a great time. This year RGMVM Fall Softball is available in three divisions: Beginner for the young girls: The girls in the beginner program are being taught the fundamentals of the game. Each week they are split into even teams and are instructed as they play. They are being taught hitting and fielding skills as well as how to play the game. This will be a big help to the girls when they sign up as new players during the regular season. Intermediate for those girls who have played in Major Division during the regular season: The girls in the intermediate program are also being split into even teams each week. However they are playing competitive games to help them sharpen the skills they already have. They are also instructed during the game and given a chance to learn new positions. Those girls who show great interest and willingness to learn during the fall league are usually team leaders during the regular season. Advanced for the Senior Division girls and girls who have been playing for years: The young ladies in our advanced fall league are players who love to have fun playing the game. They show great interest and play at the Senior level and in some cases for their HS team. They also get the experience of traveling to different fields in the area to play teams from other programs. Fall softball is how the advanced players stay sharp. Thank you to all the volunteers that make Little League Fall Softball work. We can’t do it without you...........
