The Frederick Hustlers beat the Columbia Sun Devils 11-4 in six innings on Saturday at the Memorial Day State Tournament after a six-run explosion in the third inning.

The teams traded runs for the first few innings, leading to multiple lead changes in the game.

The Hustlers finally managed to grab the lead after a strong third inning. Frederick scored on a two-run triple by Jacob, scoring Bradley and Justin.

Jacob racked up three RBIs on two hits for Frederick.

Justin got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. He allowed three runs over two innings. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered five hits.

Hustlers closer Ryan put away the final six outs to record the save.

The Hustlers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Justin doubled to ignite the offense, before Jacob doubled, bringing home Justin.

In the second, Frederick scored on an RBI double by Stevie, scoring Aiden.

The Columbia Sun Devils survived Frederick's surge and put up three runs of its own in the second. However, the third spelled defeat for the Sun Devils, as Frederick grabbed the lead for good. More runners rounded the bases on an error and three singles.

The Hustlers added two more runs in the top of the fifth. A hit into a fielder's choice scored Anderew to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Kyle's single, plating Trevor.
