"Sometimes a player's greatest challenge is coming to grips with his role on the team."
-Scottie Pippen

-The Saint John Mavericks have been a member of the Maritime Wheelchair Basketball League since 1986 and in that time they have captured 11 Maritime Championships.

-The Mavericks have placed well in several Major tournaments including a Gold Medal performance at the Annual Defi Sportif tournament in Montreal, a Silver at the Spitfire Challenge in Toronto and a Bronze medal at the C.W.B.L. National Championships.

- Last season the Mavericks finishd in first place in the Bastarache Division of the MWBA which competes in the Maritime Conference of the Canadian Wheelchair Basketball League. They went undefeated in the process...however did not attend the National Championships due to lack of funding.

- The Mavericks practice twice per week and welcome anyone, both disabled and able-bodied to come out and try the game.

"The best teams have chemistry. They communicate with each other and they sacrifice personal glory for the common goal."

Dave DeBusschere
