California Coastal Cleanup Day Program adds Lynch Creek including Lucchesi Park as Cleanup Site

Join us on Saturday, September 15, from 9am-12pm for the 23rd Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day.  Petaluma volunteers working cooperatively with the City of Petaluma Department of Parks & Recreation will clean Lynch Creek along Lucchesi, including the Lake and Park, and East Washington Creek behind Safeway

This is a great way for families, students, service groups, and neighbors to join together and show community support to protect our environment,, and have fun!
Steps to participate in Coastal Cleanup Day, September 15, 2007

Pre-Register
Everybody that joins us for a cleanup is required to sign a waiver form. School groups, boy scout and girl scout troops, and any person under the age of 18 will need a signature from a parent or guardian to participate in the cleanup.  You can pick up a waiver form at Lucchesi Community Center or call one of the site captains  You can download and print waivers in English or Spanish  at this website http://www.coastal.ca.gov/publiced/ccd/ccd5.html   Forms are also available at cleanup sites on Coastal Cleanup Day.
Check-In 8:30am   Wear sunscreen, shoes, and a hat. When you check in at the cleanup location, you will be given trash bags, gloves pencils, and a special data card to tally the items you collect.
During the cleanup Data collection is important! Your data goes into the Ocean Conservancy’s international database, which is used to identify the sources of debris and to help devise solutions to the marine debris problem. Be sure to return trash, recyclables and your data card to the site captain after the cleanup.
