Another Update

Posted by Jacob Taylor on Jan 27 2012 at 04:00PM PST

Spring break for most of the roster is April 2nd to April 6th. The weekend of April 7th and 8th is the Easter weekend. For planning purposes, we will take off Good Friday (4/6) and Easter Sunday (4/8). We would like to have something Saturday April 7th if we have enough available, hopefully a game or 2x.

Since the back weekend is out for a tournament, we would like to play in a tournament in Yakima the 1st weekend of Spring Break, and then have some practice and a game or so during the week. So we will likely be playing baseball the better part of the week from Friday 3/30 to Thursday 4/5.

Memorial Day Weekend

We plan to play in a Memorial Day Weekend tournament locally. There are 3 possible tournaments to play in and we are going to wait as late as possible to commit to check on the field of teams to search for the most competitive event as possilbe. Locations could be Enumclaw, Everett (Snohomish Co.), or Auburn. Please confirm availability.

Team Budget Update

In the HANDOUTS section is our current standing with the team budget. Thank you to Cathy for summarizing our income and expenditures thus far. Our next step is the car wash fundraiser which will be toward the end of February - beginning of March. You will get an update on how it works, by far our easiest fundraiser.

We have a $2000 line item for Sponsorships on our team budget. It appears for us to meet our team budget goal of carrying our SKVIII earnings over to 2013, we will need to probably raise these funds in along with the car wash fundraiser in order to meet the rest of our 2012 commitments. Please let me know if you have a line on a possible sponsor. Larger amounts for company sponsors right now are tough in this economy, however; we have had a lot of success getting $100 to $250 sponsors from local companies, local dentists, restaurants, etc. etc. We can provide our tax id # and a letter that will make the donation tax deductable. Also in some cases we have done up plaques with team pictures for sponsors, as some companies like that type of recognition for the sponsorship so they can show off their community commitments - just keep in mind when we make these type of commitments that a nice plaque is around $30, so the donation needs to be enough for us to net a reasonable amount to commit to something like that. Please give some thought to this and see if you can help. If we can average a $150 from each player, that would get us there. The company I work for will consider a sponsorship or possibly a matching donation depending on what type of results we can achieve as a team!
