Some of the best high school softball teams in the county will be in action Monday at Kit Carson Park in the semifinals and finals of the annual Cougar Classic.
In the Gold Division, undefeated Carlsbad takes on Bonita Vista at 3 p.m., followed by undefeated Torrey Pines against Steele Canyon at 5. The winners play for the title at 7.
In the Silver Division, San Marcos plays defending CIF San Diego Section Division I champ Grossmont at 5 p.m., preceded by Santana-Scripps Ranch. The winners play in the finals at 7.
In the Bronze Division, Rancho Buena Vista faces CIF San Diego Section Division III champion University at 3 p.m., followed by Rancho Bernardo-El Camino at 5. The winners play at 7.
In the Copper Division, San Pasqual plays Mira Mesa at 3 p.m., followed by Brawley-Clairemont at 5. The winners play at 7.
