Saturday's Opening Day celebration marked the official start of the 2014 OVLL spring season. It was so great seeing all of our families and kids in their new uniforms. All our teams looked great for their team photos, and they all gave very impressive performances for their skills challenge events.

In his welcome remarks during the Opening Day ceremonies, OVLL president Toby Reece said "it is such an honor to be a part of this great league, and it is the support of all our families and our community that makes this league so great."

Our fields never looked better, and our teams that played exhibition games had so much fun being the first teams to play in the new season and get their uniforms dirty.

We'd like to thank all of our volunteers who have been preparing for our celebration over the past few months, and for spending the day performing a variety of roles. Thank you families, you're the best!

Thanks to our food vendors: John’s Philly Grill, Ninjas with Appetite, Waffle-icious, Ms. Kettle Korn, Kona Ice and our very own Snack Bar. Thanks everyone, it was delicious!

Thank you to all of our sponsors for their generous donations to our league, and for the wonderful prizes for our raffle. Thank you everyone!

Big thanks also goes out to our teams for putting together some very cool gift baskets for our silent auction. Way to go teams!

We'd also like to give a special thanks to our guest speaker Ocean View High School principal Dan Bryan for his time and for sharing his great stories of when he was a kid. Thanks Dan... guess it's true that your principal really is your "pal."
