Orioles 5, Rockies 4 - 3/19/12

Strong pitching by Ben McConnell of the Rockies, striking out 4 of 6 batters in the first 2 innings.Strong pitching by Brad Monroe of the Orioles, striking out 4 batters in the first 2 innings. Game started with Cole Minato hitting a single, and scoring the first run for the Rockies in the first inning.Minato singled again in the 3rd, scoring the 2nd run for the Rockies in the top of the 3rd inning.Orioles tie it up in the bottom of the 3rd with a 2-run RBI by Danny Duarte, bringing in Ryan Welander and Elijah Blake.Rockies come back strong in the 4th with a nice triple and RBI by Matthew Anderegg, scoring Hunter Custodio.  Soon followed by a single RBI by Noah Hickman, scoring Anderegg, leading and holding the 4th inning at 4-2. The Orioles hold the Rockies in the top of the 5th inning and then come back with a vengance in the bottom of the 5th.  Brad Monroe starts it with a Double, soon followed by a single RBI by Kyle Newman, scoring Brad Monroe.  With a couple walks, the Orioles have bases loaded.  Elijah Blake with a Single, 2-run RBI, scores Grant Brehm and Kyle Newman and gives the Orioles a 5-4 lead.With Landen Hill on the mound, the Orioles hold the Rockies in the top of the 6th inning and are victorious with a 5-4 win.Correspondent Rachel Blake
