Mets 14, Naturals 9 – 3/24/12Scoreboard operators were busy at Minor B on Saturday, 3/24/12, as the Mets and Naturals combined for 23 runs. Mets eventually won the offensive battle 14-9 in five innings. The two teams combined for 19 hits in the game. The Mets scored five runs in the first inning to build an early lead. The Mets' Myles Lopez was perfect at the dish going 2-2. Lopez singled in the second and fourth innings. Pierce Vitrano had a strong game at the plate for Naturals. Vitrano went 2-3, drove in one and scored two runs. Vitrano singled in the third and fifth innings. The Mets easily handled Naturals’ pitching as six hitters combined for 10 hits, 10 RBIs and 11 runs scored.  The Mets ran wild on the basepaths, finishing with 10 steals. Lucas Flynn, Ryan Idnani, Dylan Uerling, and Miles Elliott each had one stolen base and Lopez, Jack Jernigan, and Antonio Ventimiglia each had two stolen bases.  Elliott threw two innings of scoreless ball for the Mets.  The Mets tacked on another four runs in the third. Elliott's single got things going, scoring Ventimiglia. That was followed up by a groundout by Idnani that scored Joseph Gentilella. The Mets piled on four more runs in the bottom of the fourth. The inning looked promising, as Jernigan singled, plating Lopez to kick things off.
