5/23/13- Iron Pigs 17, Red Wings 8

The Red Wings saw their season come to an end as the IronPig busted out for five runs in both the second and third innings and cruised to victory to remain alive in the tournament.

Owen Wessel wenrt 2-for-4 with a home run and 5 RBI for the IronPigs. Nathan Skorheim and Lucas Pantel each went 3-for-4 and scored twice for the winners. For the Red Wings, Alec Muirhead had a triple and a double and drove in three runs. 
 
5/19/13 - Bulls 7, Red Wings 5

Aiden Daniels gave the Red Wings an early lead with a three-run home run in the first inning, but the Bulls came back with a five-run second inning to remain in the winner's bracket.

Christopher Soto led the way for the Bulls, throwing the last 3-2/3 innings in relief and striking out 10 for the victory in addition to a two-run single in the Bulls' second as part of a 2-for-3 afternoon. Ivan Soto also drove in two runs for the winners.  By E. Maddy

5/19/13 - Bats 10, RiverCats 2
 
William Brooks and Jake D’Amico each belted two-run homers to highlight a 12-hit attack as the Bats won their elimination bracket game against the RiverCats.

Nick Shenkman (2-for-3, two runs), Mason Baumann (two hits), David Drigla (two-run double) and Sam Mejia (three RBI) had key contributions for the Bats.
 
Brooks’ line drive cleared the left-field fence to cap a five-run second inning, helping the Bats take an 8-0 lead. D’Amico, with Ryan Leicht on base, made it 10-1 in the fourth inning with his second home run of the season.
 
Nick Chumacero delivered an RBI double and Porter Reynolds had a run-scoring single for the RiverCats, who were playing their third game in four days. 
 
Starting pitcher Shenkman worked 3.1 innings of no-hit ball, receiving strong defensive support from center fielder Lucas Flynn and second baseman Brooks. The Bats improved to 8-12 overall.  By OVLL Correspondent
 
5/18/13 - Red Wings 12, Knights 8

On Saturday, the Red Wings faced a rematch with a Knights team they had lost to in league play. Rallying from a 3-2 deficit, the Red Wings scored five times in the fourth and five more in the sixth, then held off a furious Knights rally in the bottom of the sixth for a 12-8 victory.

Jake Alvarez went 3-for-3 and drove in four runs to pace an 11-hit attack. Daniel Kotkosky went 3-for-4 and Kotkosky, Angel Zamora, and Jaxon Potter each had a pair of RBI.  By E. Maddy

5/17/12 - Red Wings 14, Express 4

The Red Wings busted out their bats bigtime in their opening two playoff games, defeating the Express 14-4 on Friday and the Knights 12-8 on Saturday.

A five-run first inning was a big key to the victory over the Express, and the Wings kept things going by scoring in five of the six innings. Alec Muirhead went 3-for-4 and Daniel Kotkosky and Matt Hernandez each added two hits and scored three times for the winners.  By E. Maddy
