Wrap:  by Jeff Pierce Daily Times Chronicle

The Bulldogs (11-5-1) finished off a ten game stretch with a 8-1-1 record by defeating Wakefield 2-1, behind continued strong pitching and defense. Readings first three hitters of the game had base hits, including rbi doubles from Hank Oringer and Colin Sitarz. From that point on former local Stoneham HS Hall of Famer Pete Fisher shutdown the Bulldogs only allowing three more baserunners the rest of the way. Meanwhile Nick Boutoures earned his second straight win allowing just 3 hits and one walk on 69 pitches over six innings. Kevin Church came in the seventh to earn a save after the Merchants broke the Bulldogs string of sixteen straight scoreless innings, with a run on two hits and a sacrifice fly.
