Wrap: By Jeff Pierce Daily Times Chronicle

The Bulldogs suffered a tough 1-0 defeat to the always pesky Watertown Reds on Sunday afternoon at Morton Field.

For the third time in the past two seasons, and for the second consecutive time, these two teams locked up in a 1-0 pitchers duel.

Reading righty Nick Kelley entered the sixth allowing just one base runner and having retired 15 in a row. But Chris Casey lead off the sixth with a solid line drive hit and he was meticulously advanced to third with outs. Then Kelley's one strike pitch in the dirt scooting to the backstop and bringing home the only run of the game.

The Bulldogs had their chances to score but left four runners in scoring position never having totally solved Reds pitcher Scott Lueders.
