 The Bulldogs (7-5-1) dropped the Andre Chiefs on Friday night 3-2 at Endicott College with a late run after falling behind one of the league's top pitchers. Darren Hartwell threw out a Chief base runner at the plate to end the first inning and then Reading came back with an early run in the bottom of the inning when the league's top hitter Zac Talis (.500) knocked a the run with a single. The Chiefs pieced together four hits and two runs against Bulldog lefty Kevin Church to take a 2-1 lead but Reading tied it in the fourth on a Paul Crehan run scoring single. The winning rally was setup when Steve Buitkus lead off the sixth with an infield hit then stole second base. With one out Dante Padovani stroked his third hit of the night bringing in the lead run. Church finished off his up and down outing by retiring the Chiefs easily in the seventh to give the Bulldogs their first win over Andre this season after dropping the first two.
