The boy's hockey camps are five days long and feature two sessions/day. Campers will be placed in one of three groups at check-in on the first day of camp. Groups are based on age, experience, friends attending and position. Each group will be made up of a Red team and a White team. Campers ages 10 and older can attend as resident campers. Boys ages 8-9 must attend as commuter campers.
The camp is held on the Cornell University campus in Ithaca, New York. All on-ice sessions take place in Cornell's historic Lynah Rink. Camps feature two on-ice sessions and two off-ice sessions per day. On-ice sessions cover all aspects of the game including tactical sessions for offense/defensive strategies, game/position strategies, plus individual stick work and skating skills/drills. Some sessions will consist of team vs. team games where the Red team will play against the White team.
In addition to ice-time, morning and afternoon off-ice sessions include dry land training, video analysis and recreational games. Campers receive a FREE Cornell camp T-shirt and Cornell hockey jersey. Evenings feature our recreation program that includes: miniature golf, go-carting, movies, swimming, basketball, volleyball (on sand courts) and bowling. Local players can attend camp as a commuter. Commuters participate in all on-ice and dry land/video sessions, but do not take part in the evening recreation program. Lunch at RPCC is provided for commuter campers (dinner on day one).
