Playoffs - Finals

Update: game #1 on Monday Sept 22nd has been changed to an 8PM start time.


The 2008 GCMFL finals will see Local Heroes face Murray Refrigeration in a three game series starting on Monday September 22nd. Game #2 is scheduled for Wednesday September 24th with the third game on the 29th if necessary.

Locals and Murrays were the top two teams in the regular season, both in terms of the standings and their offensive production. Local Heroes was the only team in the league to crack the century mark in runs scored over the 14 game schedule with an even 100; Murrays were second with 86 runs scored. They were also the two best defensive teams in the league with Locals giving up only 29 runs and Murrays 68.

The season series was split, with Murrays handing Locals their only defeat of the season in a 4-3 decision on June 9th. The rematch turned out to be a disappointment with Murrays having to forfeit the game due to lack of players. The teams also met in the tournament championship which saw Local Heroes come from behind for a 5-3 win.

Game 1 starts at 8PM with games 2 and 3 scheduled for 7PM at the A.Y. Jackson diamond.


Round 1 is over and the match ups for the semi-finals are set.

#1 Local Heroes takes on #5 Kanata Sports Club. Local Heroes took both regular season games against KSC, winning 9-3 on May 20th and 10-0 on July 15th.

#2 Murray Refrigeration faces #3 Amsted. Murray's won both regular season games by scores of 11-7 on May 21st and 11-5 on July 15th.

Both series will begin the week of September 8th.


The regular season is over and the playoff match ups are set.

#1 Local Heroes takes on #8 Medaglia. The season series was 2-0 for Local Heroes with Ben Gigliotti getting both wins.

#2 Murray Refrigeration faces #7 Air1One Mechanical. The season series was 1-1 with Murray's winning 7-3 and Air1One winning 3-0.

#3 Amsted is home to #6 ASAP Print Management. Amsted won both games in the season series by a combined score of 9-5.

#4 seed 4 Season Pool & Spa faces Cairn division rival #5 Kanata Sports Club. The season series was tied 1-1 with the team combining for 29 runs.

All of the series will get underway the week of August 25th.
