Rule Change: Intentional Walks
Effective immediately, the Board of Directors of the New Milford Little League has amended the house rules concerning intentional walks after a unanimous vote on April 30th, 2009.
The new rules apply:
Intentional walks are not permitted in any division below the Major Leagues. All batters must be pitched to.
In the Major League Division, the following rules apply regarding intentional walks issued during games:
1. A batter may be intentionally walked only if second base is occupied and first base is open.
2. A player may only be intentionally walked only once per game.
We, the Board, think this rule is in the best interest of our players and in the interest of fair competition while still teaching and employing good basic baseball strategy.
