Looking Ahead to Post-Season Play at PALL

Posted by Tanya Sullivan on May 01 2007 at 05:00PM PDT

Can you believe the end of the regular season is approaching?  Wow!  Where did the time go?  Here's a recap of the season so far and a look ahead to post season play.  There will be lots of baseball for most PALL players after school is out, so please mark your calendars!

The final two weeks of the season find some really good baseball being played at PALL and happy, supportive fans in the stands.  In the Major Division, the race tightened a bit as the Yankees (Couches) upset the undefeated Indians 6-1 last night narrowing the Indians (Bank of Marin) lead over the Yankees and A's (Athletic Edge) to 2.5 games.  The AAA Devil Rays (Jonny Gomes) continue to dominate Interleague play with a 9-0 record after a come from behind victory over Valley's Round Table team last night.  The AA Padres (Woo and DeBarardinis) are at the top of the board with an 8-3 record.   With several games remaining in the regular season schedule, it will be an exciting couple of weeks!

The A Division is all about learning the game, developing skills and having fun.  No scores or standings are kept.  Instead, those boys and girls play a longer regular season than the other divisions.  Their season concludes the first weekend in June.

The Junior Division season is now underway and the PALL teams are off to a strong start in Inter-League play with Valley and National. Their regular season continues through 6/4.  The Senior Division season begins on May 14th.

The AA and Major Divisions will hold In House tournaments beginning Saturday, May 19th.  The AA Tournament (single elimination) will conclude by Thursday, 5/24 and the Major Division Tournament (double elimination) will conclude before the Major Division City Tournament starts on 6/9.

The AAA Division continues regular season Inter-League play until  shortly before the AAA City Tournament starts on 6/9.

The PALL AAA and Major Divisions will compete against Petaluma Valley and Petaluma National Little Leagues in City Touraments in June.  These tournaments begin on 6/9 and run for approximately 3 weeks.  They will end before the July 4th holiday. Teams will compete in "pool play" rounds and winners of pool play will advance to the championship rounds.

As PALL's Regular Season teams wrap up their competition, All-Star Teams are selected. The 9-10, 10-11, 11-12, Junior and Senior All Star Teams will represent PALL in tournaments that begin at the Area Level (half of District 35) and, for the 11-12, Junior, and Senior Division Teams, can take them all the way to their respective Little League World Series in August.  You Gotta Believe!

Keep an eye out for more specific info on post-season play.  Your player's manager will be the best source of information.
