The Swift Current Innovation Credit Union U18 AAA Wildcats beat the host Notre Dame Hounds 2-1 in a shootout in a consolation playoff game at the Mandi Schwartz Memorial Tournament Saturday in Milestone.

Calla Kampen opened the scoring for the Wildcats in the second period before Phoebe Roberts equalized with a short-handed goal in the third period. After regulation and a scoreless 10-minute overtime period, the game went to a shootout with Ella Wingert scoring the winning goal for the Wildcats in the sixth round.

Olivia Kirwan and Sadie Keller had assists in Kampen’s goal and Paige Fischer made 38 saves for the win.

The Wildcats will face the Edge School female prep team in the fifth-place game this morning in Wilcox. The Balmoral Hall Blazers face the Calgary Fire in the championship game this afternoon at Duncan McNeill Arena while the Regina Rebels and Westman Wildcats battle for third place in Milestone.
