Royals Take out Nationals with big First Inning
The Royals take out the Nationals in five innings today with a 12-2 victory. The highlight of the day was the pitching of Tyshaun Wilson. Tyshaun pitched four innings of near perfect baseball giving up no runs on one hit while striking out nine while only throwing 61 pitches. Albert Rice relieved in the fifth and gave up two unearned runs as the Royals got a little sloppy on defense.
The Royals return to action on Thursday, May 13 vs. the Tigers.
Braves, Schaer Dominate Royals
The Braves took out the first place Royals 3-1 today in a dominate pitching performance by Jayden Schaer. Jayden threw 4 2/3 innings of no-hit baseball while only walking four during his time.
The Royals bats came alive with two outs in the fifth and sixth innings. In the fifth, Ryan Ludvik drove a pitch from Braves reliever Liam Chavez to deep right field for a double to score Sam Beasley with the Royals first run. In the bottom of the sixth, Zach Milligan and Ned Darden each had singles with two outs and brough the winning run to the plate. The Braves were able to secure the victory though as Albert Rice grounded out to second base to end the threat and the game.
On the mound for the Royals, Ethan Richter pitched three innings giving up two earned runs while striking out six. Tyshaun Wilson pitched the final three giving up no runs while strking out seven Braves.
The Royals return to action on Wednesday versus the Mets. Game time is 6pm.
Royals win Matchup for First Place
The Royals won a matchup of first place teams tonight against the Tigers 5-2. The Royals were lead offensively by Albert Rice who hit his third homerun of the season. Ned Darden and Zach Milligan also each had two-out, two RBI singles in the first and second innings respectively.
Zach pitched a complete game two hitter giving up one earned run while striking out eight and walking one.
The Royals moved to 9-2 on the season and lead the Tigers now by one game. The Royals return to action against a hot Braves team on Saturday at 10:30pm.
Big First Inning Propels Royals to Win
The Royals scored five runs in the first inning of Saturdays matchup to roll to victory over the Tigers. After giving up a run in the top half of the first, the Royals scored two runs before Tyshaun Wilson hit a base clearing triple to put the Royals up 5-1. The final score was 8-5.
Ethan Richter pitched 3 2/3 innings to get the win striking out six. Zach Milligan came in to save the game in the sixth.
At the plate, Zach had two hits at the plate while Ethan, Ryan Ludvik, Dante Venvertohl, Tyshaun and Evan Craige also contributed one hit.
