FPLL Major Royals

The Royals opened the 2009 season with a 7-0 victory over the Braves.  The team was led by the pitching of Ethan Richter and Markey Howlett.  Ethan pitched four strong innings striking out eleven while only giving up one hit.  He walked four Braves and worked out of a first inning based loaded situation with back-to-back strikeouts.  Markey pitched the final two innings striking out three while only throwing 17 pitches.  What a great way to start the season on the mound for the Royals.

 At the plate, the team was lead by Stephen Davis who was 2-3 with two doubles and four RBIs.  Jimmy Hurley was 1-2 with a double and RBI in his major division debut. 

 The team returns to action on Tuesday, April 7 versus the Red Sox.
