Alex Varkatzas' two goals set a single-season school record and helped Elmira Free Academy to a 3-2 victory over host Corning in a Southern Tier Athletic Conference boys soccer game Friday.
Justin Munson also added a goal for Elmira. Sean Denicola and Jake Davenport each had an assist and Luke Ford made four saves. Varkatzas has scored 16 goals for the Blue Devils this season.
Matt Sheffer and Evan Crawford scored for Corning and Zach Dann added an assist. Jonathan Howitt made two saves. Corning held a 6-5 edge in shots.
