EFA shuts down Southside in boys soccer
Alex Varkatzas had two goals and an assist Friday to lead the Elmira Free Academy boys soccer team to a 4-0 home victory against Southern Tier Athletic Conference West Division opponent Elmira Southside.
Nick Lian added a goal and an assist for the Blue Devils, who got their other goal from Tee Milliken.
Academy goalie Satchel Waters made two saves for the shutout. EFA had a 12-3 edge in shots.
Eric Berglund made 10 saves for Southside.
