SHOCKWAVE TO HOST MLB Pitch, Hit & Run Competition - May 2

AREA YOUTH TO COMPETE IN MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL PITCH, HIT & RUN COMPETITION. 

DATE:  Saturday, May 2nd   TIME:  6:00 p (Register at 5:30p)

LOCATION:  Gahagan Sports Complex (Summerville)

Open to Girls and Boys

 Ages 7-14*

*Age group determined by age of participant as of July17, 2009

Eligible if Born between July 18, 1994 & July 18, 2000

PARTICIPANTS ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO COMPETE IN ONE LOCAL EVENT. 

SHOCKWAVE BASEBALL will host a free MLB PHR competition for area youth. Pitch, Hit & Run is the Official Skills Competition of Major League Baseball.  This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball skills.

Competitors are divided into four age divisions:  7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2009 MLB All Star game in St Louis.

The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each age group at the Local Competition will be awarded and advance to the Sectional Level of Compeition which will convienently located in Hanahan on Sat, May 9th.  

All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and fill out a registration/ waiver form prior to the start of the competition.  For questions concerning the competition, please contact the Event Coordinator, Aubrey Heflin at goshockwave@bellsouth.net of 821-5988.
