Field Hockey Parents’ Club Meeting

May 13, 2008

Meeting called to order at 7:04 by Tiven Teno.

A Car Wash profit of $1320.00 was announced by Secretary Tammy Oswald. It was noted that Wal-Mart no longer matches the amount raised. Participants are to submit paperwork applying for community grant which is then reviewed and if awarded, a dollar amount designated by Wal-Mart may be given.

An estimated $40 per girl will be entered to player accounts of girls who participated in the car wash.

It was noted that because it was Mother’s Day weekend patronage was heavy and that should be kept in mind for future car washes.

Committee sign up sheets were again passed around; please keep dates of upcoming events in mind when gathering into committees.

Coach Hindy passed out calendars with summer activities. He noted that he will run a camp in  August and would appreciate the high school girls being available to help.

A fee of $180 will include participation in Speed Camp, Weight Lifting Session and Iron Lakes practices.

The speed camp is by Edge Sports Training and all ages are welcome to participate. A motion to refund $30 to girls who attend 14 of the 17 speed camp sessions was made by Lisa Troch and  seconded by Coleen Bretz.

Travel to Iron Lakes may include school vans and any parents/students who are able to help with transportation.

Players attending UNC Camp are reminded that the remainder of the paperwork, Physician’s Medical Form , Code of Code and Athlete’s Medical form are to be received by June 1 at UNC.

Camp UNC bus departure time is set at 12:01 with the understanding that changes are still possible. An approximate balance of $32 is due at the next meeting (June 9, 2008) for those who have already paid their $40 bus deposit.

Summer League sign up sheets for Muhlenberg and Nazareth Leagues were available to sign. Rosters will be determined by Coach Hindy. Entry into the Lafayette League is also a possibility.

Nazareth League - $40

Muhlenberg will be $50 or $60 w/shirt

Wissahicken Tournament - $30

Firecracker Tournament - $30-$40

School Physicals are July 17 at the high starting at 8 am.

Pre-season schedule includes

August 19 scrimmage with Wyoming Seminary and Palmyra

August 27, Iron Lakes tri-scrimmage with Parkland and Wyoming Valley West

Festival has allotted Coach Hindy 1 U19 team. Tryouts are Sunday, June 1 (evening) at Iron Lakes

Coach Schoenberger costs for camp attendance as a chaperone includes a fee of $45/night for her lodging. The club motioned to pay the fee and it was seconded by all.

The Next Field Hockey Parents Club Meeting is June 9, at the high school field (start time same as speed camp).
