Announcement
Dear parents and swimmers,
Monday marks the start of what will be the busiest week of our season so far. As you are aware, we have meets Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. We are away at East Hanover Monday, and at home the rest of the week. I've included directions to the away meet with this email. These meets all start at 6 PM, so try to be at the pool around 5 for sign in and warm-ups. Please note that there may be more traffic to deal with now that we're swimming in the afternoon- plan accordingly. If you know that you will not be able to attend any combination of these three meets and have not let me know, please send an email so that Kelly and I can help more people swim. We had fewer scratched swimmers in the Summit meet than we've had in years past, and I'd like to keep that momentum going. Please let us know by email if you will not be attending!
As I stated in a previous email, team photos are slated for this Thursday evening. Unfortunately, the photographer sent too few copies of the order form. Until I get enough forms for every family, I will hold onto the forms I have. It is my hope that more forms will arrive Monday or Tuesday for distribution Wednesday. I will keep you posted. When enough forms do arrive, I will put one in each family's mailbox (located to the left as you come in- blue box under the redecorated swim team board).
Kelly and I are also coordinating the swim team clothing sale. The team is offering a selection of t-shirts, shorts, sweatpants, and customizable hoodies. This is a great way to show your support for the team in a fashionable manner! I've attached the order form to this email. Please print it out, complete the form and return it to either Kelly or myself, with your payment. Cash or check is acceptable, however, Kelly and I ask that you enclose your order in an envelope with your name on the front. This makes it easier to keep track of your orders.
If you did not receive a white Millburn Swim Team t-shirt, and are interested in acquiring one, please send me an email and let me know. I know there are a few families that were unable to get team shirts, and I'm interested in working to ensure everybody has one. Please let me know by Wednesday if this is the case.
I am also pleased to announce that we have again obtained the services of Coach Bill Deatly, head of the Elite Swim Club. He will be conducting a special practice on this Tuesday morning, the 7th from 9:15 to 10:15. Unfortunately, due to size considerations, we can only open this clinic to members of our team 12 and under. As a result, there will be a modified practice schedule for Tuesday morning. Practice for swimmers 12 and under will begin at 9:15, conducted by Mr. Deatly. Practice for 13 and overs will start between 10:15 and 10:30. Anybody interested in swimming year-round with the Elite team is encouraged to speak to Mr. Deatly before or after his practice on Tuesday. He is an excellent source of swim knowledge, and many members of our team have had success with his club.
