Millburn Pool Summer Swim Team

Millburn Swim Team,

 

It's been a great quick season!  Congratulations to everyone who participated this summer! Tom and I are proud to be working with everybody.  Let's end the season strong Monday morning at Divisionals! 

Here are the details on the Divisional meet:

The meet is located at the Verona pool. I will put the directions at the end of this email. Please note that it will be shared by us and four other teams. Tom and I will do our best to make sure people get where they need to be, but swimmers should also be constantly checking the water to see what's being swum as well as listening to the events being marshalled.

 

PARENTS- We need as many volunteer as possible! Please email me back if you would volunteer! 

 

The pool gates will open at 6:30 AM. We will have a sign in sheet. Please get to the pool at 6:30 AM! Warmups will start at 7:00 AM. We will have one lane for the purpose of warmups until 8 AM.

 

The meet is planned to begin promptly at 8 AM. Note that there is a scratch meeting beforehand. If swimmers have not shown up and signed in by 6:45 AM they will be scratched from the meet. Be sure to show up on time!! 

 

Since the length of events is determined by who wants to swim it, there will be a lot of waiting involved for all parties. To make things go faster, offer to help out! We will need to provide 3 timers at least as well as a marshal and a runner for the duration of the meet. Since it can take a long time, we suggest that parents find friends and then take turns covering a single lane. Please email me back if you would like to help out. If there aren't enough volunteers by 7:30, Tom and I may have to conscript some. It's best to grab a partner early and speak to us.

 

Bring your own chairs and blankets. They'll have a bake sale and a snack bar with breakfast items if you get hungry halfway through.

 

Verona will be selling programs to the Divisionals meet, with all swimmers listed in heat and lane. It's a good idea to pick one of these up, as they are invaluable and tend to go fast. I will attach the psych sheet Verona sent over to me with the events we have entered for the meet! We can not make any changes to this meet, what is entered is entered. Please do not pay any attention to the times on the psych sheet they are not correct, there was a mistake made!

From Millburn Pool1) Turn left onto White Oak Ridge Rd. 
2) Turn left onto Parsonage Hill Rd 
3) Turn right onto JFK Pkwy. Follow JFK Pkwy as it becomes Livingston Ave, all the way through Livingston. Approx 6 miles total. 
4) Turn right at the "T" onto Eagle Rock Ave.
5) Go approx 200 yards at turn left onto Roseland Ave.
6) Go approx 1.5 miles and turn right at the "T" onto Bloomfield Ave. 
7) Go approx 1.5 miles and turn left onto Fairview Ave.
8) Pool is about 1 mile ahead on the right.
