Wildcats upset Dry

The Kentville Wildcats put another notch in the win column with a 7-5 victory over Dartmouth Sunday evening.  Mike King hit a 3-run home run to cap off a 4 run 7th inning.  Mike Sponagle picked up the win in relief of Corey Kent.  The Wildcats won for the 9th time in 10 games, to improve to 12-13.  The win leaves them with a 1 1/2 game lead on Sydney for 4th place, and just a half game back of Halifax for third spot.  Dartmouth's Chris Head stole two bases to breal the single season stolen base record at 38.

The Wildcats and the NSSBL will now take a break for the Canadian Championship that will take place August 9-12 in Quebec City.

The Wildcats next game is scheduled for Wednesday August 15th at 7:30 as the Truro Bearcats visit Memorial Park.
