(Malden, MA)- Silas Reed allowed just three hits and struck out 10 when the Chiefs edged the Lexington Blue Sox 1-0 at Maplewood on Monday evening.

2023 Intercity League MVP Juan Parra (pictured) gave Reed the only run he would need when he drove in Joe Bova, who had walked, with a two out third inning single.

Reed (4-0) was dominant all night and picked up his fourth win of the season. Lexington righty Matt Draper (5-1) was outstanding as well, allowing just one hit in 4.1 innings. Michael O’Brien, son of Boston College Head Football Coach and former Patriots OC Bill O’Brien, relieved Draper and shutout the Chiefs over the final 1.2 innings.

Veteran righty Jon Shepard made his Chiefs debut with two outs in the seventh and recorded a strikeout to get the save.

The win was the seventh straight for the now 12-4 Chiefs. They will return to action on Wednesday when they will play the Malden Maddogs at Maplewood starting at 8:00 PM.
