Desai and Bullpen Pitch Chiefs to 5-1 Wednesday Win Over Maddogs

Malden, MA- Veteran lefty Josh Desai (pictured left) went the first four innings to record the win when the Chiefs beat the Malden Maddogs 5-1 at Maplewood on Wednesday night.

Desai, the former Suffolk University standout, didn’t allow an earned run and gave up four hits, He received plenty of help from his bullpen as Relfin Jiminez (0.2 innings, 2 K’s, Jon Matos (1.1 innings, 3 K’s) and Cameron Breault (1 inning, 2 K’s) blanked the Maddogs over the last three innings.

Ryan Noone stayed hot at the plate with a 2-2 night that included a triple and an RBI and Juan Parra chipped in with two hits and an RBI. Andrew Caulfield added to his league best RBI total picking up his 15th of the season.

With the win the Chiefs raise their record to 7-3 on the year. They now enjoy a few days off and will return to action on Monday night when they host the Melrose Americans at Maplewood starting at 8:00 PM.
