Malden, MA— Manager Anthony Perry and Pitching Coach Dave Caiazzo took an unconventional approach, using seven pitchers who all tossed an inning each, when the Chiefs turned back the Lexington Blue Sox 8-2 on Monday evening at Maplewood.

Cal Carroll, Shai Cohen, Jonathan Richard, Relfin Jiminez, A.J Rourke, Jon Matos, and Cameron Breault all threw an inning each and combined to strike out 11 batters. Richard (1-0), who pitched the third inning, picked up the win.

The Chiefs overcame a 2-1 Lexington lead in the bottom of the third when they tallied three times and then went on to add a four spot in the home half of the fifth inning.

Catcher Ryan Noone (pictured) with two hits and three RBI’s, Juan Parra ( 3 hits, 3 runs scored), Tyler Ferdinand (2 RBI single) and Andrew Caulfield, with a couple of RBI’s on two sacrifice flies, led the Chiefs offense. For Caulfield it was his league leading 13th and 14th RBI’s of the season.

The Lexington runs came off Cohen in the top of the second inning. Both runs were unearned.

Robbie Cobb (0-1), the first of four pitchers that worked for the Blue Sox in the game, went 2.2 innings and took the loss.

The 6-3 Chiefs are back in action on Wednesday when they host the Malden Maddogs at Maplewood starting at 8;00 PM.
