The St. Thomas Tomcats win the league playoffs for the 2nd time in 3 years. The Tomcats defeated the Guelph Silvercreeks 3 games to 1. The Tomcats also won the league pennant this season, something that hasn't been done in the recent past. Congratulations!!!!!

ST. THOMAS MINOR MOSQUITO CARDINALS THROW NO HITTER

St. Thomas Cardinal Minor Mosquito pitchers Michael Mommersteeg and Matthew Brooks combined for a no hitter Monday night against Oakridge. Mommersteeg gave up only 2 walks and struck out 10 batters in the 10-0 win. Mommersteeg was 2 outs away from a complete game no hitter but pitch count chased him from the game. Matthew Brooks came into the game and struck out 2 batters to complete the no hitter.
Ilderton Junior, Jeff Latta, threw a complete game no-hitter against the St. Thomas Cardinals on Thursday night at Emslie Field. Jeff struck out 15 and did not walk a batter as Ilderton beat St. Thomas 9 - 0. Jeff had a perfect game going into the 6th inning before Ilderton committed an infield error to allow a base runner. Jeff played his minor baseball in Lucan and Ilderton before playing 3 years with the Midget Badger organization. He is also a graduate of Sauk Valley Junior College where he was voted a conference all-star in his final season. Jeff has had 3 previous no-hitters all with the Midget Badgers. Congratulations on a superb pitching performance!
