Player Registration

Posted by Diane Wakefield at Feb 28, 2009 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

A player wishing to play competitive baseball in the L.D.B.A. MUST register with his/her home association prior to March 15.  Failure to register with the home association before March 15 would mean that said player will be allowed to only play house league.

(A Badger player only needs to register with the Badgers before March 15 -- if he is not successful in his attempt at making a Badger team, said player must return to his home association to play )

LDBA has a no release policy -- players MUST register with their home association.

DELAWARE WINS SILVER

Posted by Diane Wakefield at Sep 3, 2008 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Delaware minor peewee team finished the year with an overall record of 32 wins and 11 losses, including a first place finish in league play and the league playoff title for LDBA. The team headed into the OBA's, hosted by Oakridge at Stronach Park, hoping to be competitive with the other 11 teams all representing their associations. The boys worked hard all weekend playing in a total of 7 games and coming up short in the end, losing 5-3 to Chatham in a very exciting final. Many new friendships were made during the year and the coaching staff of Ken Whittaker, Craig Bowden, Gary Haves and Rob Fletcher are proud of the team for a very successful and enjoyable season. Congratulations go out to team members Dylan Johnston, Ben Whittaker, Cooper Leitch, Kyle Pettit, Andrew Fletcher, Matt Bowden, Jared Vint, Devin Empey, Sam Haves, Lawson Crouse and Michael Pierce. You represented LDBA very well.

ST. THOMAS WINS BANTAM 'B' GOLD

Cards take OBA bantam B title

Posted By Times-Journal Staff

St. Thomas Bantam Cardinals won three games back-to-back Sunday to capture the Ontario Baseball Association bantam B championship in Mississauga.

Head Coach Bill Wilkinson said the Cardinals used a combination of pitching, hitting and fan support to win the championship. "The players had to dig down within themselves and to win three games in a row on a hot day showed their determination and deserved to be champions," Wilkinson said. After splitting two games on Saturday, the Cardinals defeated Chatham 12-4 Sunday. Josh Morrison turned in a strong relief pitching effort to lead St. Thomas to a 7-4 victory over Bolton which put the Cards into the final against Chatham. Because of OBA relations which limited the number of pitches St. Thomas could use for the final out in the last game, the Cards were down to two throws. Pitcher Ryan Ousterhout came into the game in relief and picked off a runner for the final out. "All players contributed to the win and encouraged each other," said Coach Scott Ousterhout. Performing consistently at the plate for the cards were Shawn Lampman, Taylor Degraw, Jacob Gold, Dustin Welch, Quinn Little, Jordan Wolfe. Coaches also had praise for catcher Isaac Zywczok, outfielder Dylan Pratt and Ryan Christner and Zak Charron. "After a long season of learning skills, practices and games, it is rewarding to see players come together and achieve their goal," said Coach Rob Gold.
