Gold Country Buzzards

by mmMumbles Not much to report from this “match”. Definitely no humor. We fell behind quickly and stayed there. The final score was 16-8, but the game wasn’t that close. Match Report - Game #6 (DH game #2) - Sun 05/20/2007 .vs. Valley Dogs by mmMumbles A better effort by the Buzzards, but a tough loss. We were up 5-0 after three innings, and “Spacey” hadn’t allowed a hit. Things suddenly went south as Danny and catcher Pete couldn’t buy a strike and the V.D. hitters were sitting on Danny’s middle-of-the-plate fastballs (the only ones the umpire would call). The 5-0 lead dissolved into an 8-5 deficit within two innings. The final score of 9-8 reflects our rally in the sixth (and final) inning, where we had the tying run on base, but it is still a loss in the book. We can play with this team and look for a different outcome when we play them next on August 12th. There were a couple of highlights on the day. “Brooklyn” Barry Forman and Mark “Skates” Wronski finally got off the schnide and got hits in the book. Nice work guys. Now if we can just teach “Skates” how to run the bases . . .
