Details for Final Week

Posted by Jon Morinishi on Mar 17 2008 at 05:00PM PDT

Dear Force Parents,

All plans look good on paper bur seldom work out the way you intended them to. We wanted to practice in the month of March at least twice a week or even three times per week to better prepare us for the SASF Tournament in Sacramento on 3/29 & 3/30.

With the final week approaching quickly we want everyone to know that we have solidified the practices before the tournament.

Friday 3/21 - We will practice at Mariners in Costa Mesa from 6:30-8:00 p.m., if those that can stay later we will continue to work on individual skills from 8:00-8:30 p.m., remember this practice is not mandatory but if you do not attend Friday you must attend Saturday. We will need at least 5 players for each day to be able to practice.

If you still want to attend Jason at 9:00 p.m. let me know as we are going to cancel his workout for this Friday 3/21 as well as next Friday 3/28 unless enough players want to go.

Saturday 3/22 - We will practice at Marina HS in Huntington Beach from 4:00-5:30 p.m., again you must attend either Friday or Saturday but if you can make both practices it will help your son with what we need to work on for Sacramento.

Wednesday 3/26 - We will be having a scrimmage at the American Sports Center in Anaheim from 5:30-6:30 p.m. against the 11U All-Net team from Honolulu, Hawaii. Please be sure to arrive 15 minutes early to stretch out and ready to go at 5:30 p.m. This will not be a full scrimmage but a controlled practice in which both teams can practice running their offensive plays and defensive sets against each other. They may only have 5 players for this day but we just want to meet them and to learn from them as well.

Thursday 3/27 - We will be practicing at the Buena Park Boys & Girls Club from 6:00-7:30 p.m. We are going to be walking through everything from tip drill, man to man offense, zone offense, zone inbounds plays, man to man inbound plays, sideline play, half court press, half court trap, free throws, etc. We don't want to be unprepared as we were in San Francisco last year against the BAAS Dragons team. We moved closer West helping those coming from the South Bay as well as those around Cerritos.

Let Jon or I  know if you have any questions regarding our schedule, we are trying to get the boys in as many practices as possible to prepare them for the 6th grade division up north.

Thanks again,

Mark
