9U 2006

The 2006 9-U Southern Indiana Spikes team started out their season in the B.P.A. D&B Rustbuster Classic Friday March 31 with a win over the Henderson Havoc 8-4. On Saturday they beat the Shakamak Lakers 12-4, and then lost to Bowling Green Bearcat Nationals 5-7. On Sunday with a record of 2-1 they again defeated the Shakamak Lakers. This once again pitted the Spikes against the Bearcat Nationals. The Spikes coming out of the losers bracket won 12-5, forcing a final game for the championship with the Bearcats. Due to severe weather the game was called in the bottom of the 6th inning , where the Spikes were trailing 8-6 and finished runner-up. What a great start to the "pitching" divison! Way to go Spikes!!!
