 Adrian Black was unfortunate to have a stress fracture during his Senior year of High School Track. However, it did not stop him. Adrian Black showed incredible mental toughness and determination. Adrian Black trained with Northside Head Coach Jon Gordon at 6:30 am everyday at the Northside Swimming pool by running in the deep end of the Pool with a Wet Vest. Adrian Black simulated TEAM workouts in the Swimming pool in an effort to return to action before the end of the season. Although his leg did not heal in time for him to race on land, he is now healthy, and built a strong running base in the pool to help him prepare for his first year of Collegiate Cross Country and Track. 

 Northside College Prep is academically ranked #3 in the Nation, and #1 in Illinois. Adrian Black is ranked #2 in the Senior class with a 5.2653 GPA. Adrian Black also has the top ACT (perfect score) and SAT scores at Northside. Adrian Black is being honored at graduation as the Salutatorian of the Senior Class.

 Adrian Black has great leadership skills, and is also an Eagle Scout. Adrian Black was also co-Captain of the Northside Cross Country Team during his Senior year. He was also elected as the only student member of the local school council.

 During his High School Athletic Career, Adrian Black helped the Mustangs win the SOPHOMORE BOYS CITY TITLE, by earning All City Honors in the 3200m run and the 1600m run. Adrian Black also helped the Mustangs win the IHSA SECTIONAL TRACK & FIELD TEAM TITLE by qualifying for the IHSA State Championships in the 3200m run. 

 During his Junior year of Track, Adrian Black helped the Mustangs win the INDOOR CITY TEAM TITLE, by finishing in third place to earn All City Honors in the 3200m run! During the outdoor season, Adrian Black ran a personal best time of 10:05.19, and is ranked as the sixth fastest 3200m runner in Northside history!

 Adrian Black earned 3 Varsity letters in Cross Country, and 4 Varsity letters in Track!

Northside Alumni legends Patrick O'Connor and Amy O'Connor served as outstanding Assistant Coaches for the Northside Track & Field Team from 2014 to 2015.

Patrick O'Connor was the best Assistant Distance Coach in Northside history. Patrick O'Connor is leaving the Northside Track & Field Coaching Staff to attend graduate school. Patrick O'Connor has a degree in Kinesiology, and is working towards a career as a Physical Therapist. Patrick O'Connor was a tremendous asset to the Cross Country and Track Programs from 2014 to 2015.

Amy O'Connor was an outstanding Assistant Sprints Coach and traveled with the Team to the Indoor State Championships in 2015. Amy O'Connor is a kindergarten teacher at McPherson Elementary school, and her duties have expanded to include after school programs. Amy O'Connor was a tremendous asset to the Cross Country and Track Programs from 2014 to 2015. 

Northside also had several alumni become heros to the Team in NCAA Track & Field Meets throughout the country! Wesley Laytham at Davidson. Charlie Mesimore at Cornell. Cooper Eben at Duke. Mac Melto at DePaul. Simon Kafka at Beloit. Alex Gordon at Macalaster.

Northside is very grateful to Patrick O'Connor and Amy O'Connor for giving back multiple years of service to the Cross Country and Track programs, that they both enjoyed together in High School. The Northside Coaching Staff and Athletes will miss them, and look forward to hearing great things about them in the future.

 In 2015, Northside Junior Danny Rosen scored over a 100 Varsity points. Rosen WON the 800m run at the Glenbrook North Indoor Classic, Niles West Indoor Classic, and the Glenbrook North Outdoor Classic. Danny Rosen WON the 1600m run at Eric Nelson Classic, and the Mike VanDeever Invitational. Danny Rosen WON the 3200m at St. Viator Invitational. Danny Rosen also helped the Northside 4x400m Relay WIN The Indoor City Title, Eric Nelson Classic, Glenbrook North Outdoor Classic, and Lake Forest Academy Classic. Danny Rosen also helped Northside break the SCHOOL RECORD in the 4x1600m Relay (18:21). Danny Rosen also broke the SCHOOL RECORD in the 1600m (4:22.96) and the Steeplechase (3:04.95).

 From Freshman Year (11:17.00) to Junior Year (9:51.75), Danny Rosen has dropped 1 minute and 25 seconds in the 3200m run. 

 From Freshman Year (5:09.7) to Junior Year (4:22.96), Danny Rosen has dropped 46.74 seconds in the 1600m run. 

 From Freshman Year (2:07.51) to Junior Year (1:59.61), Danny Rosen has dropped 7.90 seconds in the 800m run.

 In 2015, Northside Senior Malcolm Grba scored the Most Varsity Points on the TEAM. Malcolm Grba WON the 800m run at the Evanston Indoor Classic, and Lake Forest Academy Classic. Grba broke the STADIUM RECORD at the Lake Forest Academy Classic in the 800m run with a personal best time of 2:00.12. Malcolm Grba finished in second place in the 800m run at the Paul Gans Invitational and Mike VanDeever Invitational. Malcolm Grba WON the 1000m run at the Niles West Indoor Classic and broke the SCHOOL RECORD with an official time of 2:45.62. Malcolm Grba WON the 1600m run at the Glenbrook North Indoor Classic (4:39.10), and the Glenbrook North Outdoor Classic (4:27.76). Malcolm Grba finished second in the 1600m run at the Indoor City Championships. Malcolm Grba earned All Sectional Honors in the 1600m run (4:26.90). Malcolm Grba also Won the Discus Competition at the Lake Forest Academy Classic. Malcolm Grba also helped Northside win the 4x400m Relay at the Indoor City Championships and the Lake Forest Academy Classic. Malcolm Grba also helped Northside break the SCHOOL RECORD in the 4x1600m Relay (4:25.81 1600m split).

 From Freshman Year (10:59) to Senior Year (9:59.20), Malcolm Grba dropped one minute in the 3200m run.

 Grba did not run the 1600m run during his Freshman Year. From Sophomore Year (4:44.68) to Senior Year (4:25.81), Malcolm Grba dropped 19 seconds in the 1600m run.

 Grba did not run the 800m run during his Freshman Year. From Sophomore Year (2:04.93) to Senior Year (2:00.12), Malcolm Grba dropped 4.81 seconds in the 800m run.

 In 2015, Northside Senior Tom Frejowski qualified for the IHSA State Championships for the third consecutive year. Frejowski competed in the IHSA State Championships in the 4x400m Relay in 2013, and the 400m Dash in 2014 and 2015. Tom Frejowski won the 400m dash at Glenbrook North Outdoor Classic, and Lake Forest Academy Classic. Tom Frejowski also anchored the Northside 4x400m Relay to victory at the CPS Indoor Championships, Eric Nelson Classic, Glenbrook North Outdoor Classic, and Lake Forest Academy Classic.

 Frejowski did not run in the 800m run during his Freshman Year. From Sophomore Year (2:14.92) to Senior Year (2:03.85), Tom Frejowski dropped 11.07 seconds in the 800m run.

 From Freshman Year (55.50) to Senior Year (51.47), Tom Frejowski dropped 4.03 seconds in the 400m Dash.
