 Despite the size of the crowd, you could hear a pin drop when the best sprinters on the Team, Junior Philip Wdowiak and Senior Tom Frejowski towed the line in heat six.

 Philip Wdowiak is a three sport athlete, and competes in Soccer, Hockey, and Track and Field. Wdowiak is a school record holder in the Sprints Medley Relay (Spartan Relays - 2014), with Steven Kataba, Gabriel Jiminez-Ekhman, and Tom Frejowski. In 2014, Philip Wdowiak ran the 50 yards dash in 6.09! He has also ran 4x100m splits of 11.34, and 4x200m splits of 24.00. He has also earned Medals and Plaques in the 50 yards dash, 4x100m, 4x200m, and 400m dash. He also helped Northside win a Chicago Public League Indoor Track Title. In the Fall, Wdowiak won two miles Time Trials at Soccer Practice, and Northside has plans to use him in the 800m run as well this year.

 Captain Tom Frejowski is a two sport athlete, and competes in Cross Country, and Track and Field. In 2014, he qualified for the Indoor State Championships (Illinois Prep Top Times) in the 4x800m relay, and qualified for the IHSA Outdoor State Track & Field Championships in the 400m dash. Frejowski also qualified for the 2013 IHSA Outdoor State Track & Field Championships in the 4x400m Relay. During his high school athletic career, he has helped Northside win a Sophomore Chicago Public League Title, an IHSA Sectional Title, and an Indoor City Title. Among other records, Frejowski holds the school record for the Steeplechase and Sprints Medley Relay.

  Northside Senior Tom Frejowski finished in third place overall, and was the second fastest Senior at King of the Quarter with an outstanding time of 57.29. Tom Frejowski dropped 1.44 seconds (58.73) from the 2014 King of the Quarter competion. Tom Frejowski earned a Medal by placing second in the Senior division of King of the Quarter!

 Northside Junior Philip Wdowiak finished in fifth place overall, and was the second fastest Junior at King of the Quarter with an outstanding time of 57.87. Philip Wdowiak earned a Medal by placing second in the Junior division of King of the Quarter!

 Two great athletes, Junior Brendan Powers, and Senior Porter Abbey toed the line in heat 12 of the Northside King of the Quarter competition.

 Junior Brendan Powers is the Mustangs top returning Pole Vaulter. Pole Vault requires the speed of a sprinter, and the strength of a thrower. In 2014, Brendan Powers racked up points, Medals, and Plaques for Northside by scoring in the Pole Vault with a 2nd place finish at the Bison Indoor Classic, 3rd place finishes at the Eric Nelson Classic, Dolphin Indoor Classic, and a 4th place finish at the Ostberg Sophomore Championships. Powers is also emerging as one of the Mustangs top sprinters this season. This year, Powers trains with the Northside sprinters everyday. Powers has a big future in all of the sprinting events.

 Senior Porter Abbey holds four school records, including the 400m Hurdles, High Hurdle Shuttle Relay, Low Hurdle Shuttle Relay, and the Triple Jump Relay. Porter Abbey competes in the 110m Hurdles, 300m Hurdles, Long Jump, and Triple Jump. Abbey helped Northside win a Sophomore City Track Title, and an IHSA Sectional Title. Porter Abbey also qualified for the IHSA State Championships in the 4x400m Relay in 2013. Abbey has also earned three Varsity letters in Cross Country.  

 Northside Senior Porter Abbey finished in fourth place overall, and was the third fastest Senior at the King of the Quarter competition with an outstanding time of 57.68Porter Abbey dropped 0.70 of a second (58.38) from the 2014 King of the Quarter competition. Porter Abbey earned a Medal by placing third in the Senior division of King of the Quarter!

 Northside Junior Brendan Powers finished in sixth place overall, and was the third fastest Junior at the King of the Quarter competition with a PERSONAL BEST time of 58.68. Brendan Powers dropped 3.88 seconds (62.56) from the 2014 King of the Quarter competition. Brendan Powers earned a Medal by placing third in the Junior division of King of the Quarter.

 Northside Sophomore Brandon Banas finished seventh overall, and WON the Sophomore division with an official time of 58.71. Brandon Banas dropped 0.85 of a second (59.56) from the 2014 King of the Quarter. Brandon Banas was awarded a Medal for winning the Sophomore division of King of the Quarter.

 Northside Junior Steven Kataba finished eighth overall, and fourth for the Junior division of King of the Quarter with an outstanding time of 60.18.

 Northside Sophomore Josh Borgwardt finished in second place in the sophomore division of the King of the Quarter competition with an outstanding time of 60.56. Josh Borgwardt DROPPED 9.79 SECONDS (70.35) from the 2014 King of the Quarter competition. Josh Borgwardt will be awarded a MEDAL for finishing in second place in the Sophomore division.

 Northside Junior Troy Hu finished fifth in the Junior division of the King of the Quarter competition with a PERSONAL BEST time of 60.60.

 Northside Sophomore Jacob Cosby finished in THIRD place in the sophomore division of the King of the Quarter competition with an outstanding time of 61.12. Jacob Cosby DROPPED 6.67 SECONDS (67.79) from the 2014 King of the Quarter competition. Jacob Cosby will be awarded a MEDAL for finishing in third place in the Sophomore division.

 Alex Ortiz finished in 12th place overall, and in fourth place in the Sophomore division with an outstanding time of 61.35. Ortiz came within 0.23 of a second of winning a medal.

 Brian McManus finished in 13th place overall, and in fifth place in the Sophomore division with an outstanding time of 61.79. Brian McManus dropped 3.08 seconds (64.87) from the 2014 King of the Quarter competition.

 Garret Barch finished in 14th place overall, and in sixth place in the Junior division with a PERSONAL BEST time of 62.05.

 Kyle Friedler finished in 15th place overall, and in sixth place in the Sophomore division with a PERSONAL BEST time of 62.60. Kyle Friedler dropped 4.98 seconds (67.58) from the 2014 King of the Quarter competition.

 Keith Jones finished in 16th place overall, and in seventh place in the Junior division with a PERSONAL BEST time of 62.71.

 Sergio Soto finished in 17th place overall, and in seventh place in the Sophomore division with an outstanding time of 64.25. Sergio Soto dropped 8.77 seconds (73.02) from the 2014 King of the Quarter competition.
