Northside Varsity Women Upset Loyola 71-49 at Niles North Lady Viking Inviational
On Friday, April 25, 2008, the Northside Varsity Women Track & Field Team traveled to Niles North High School for the Lady Viking Invitational. The meet featured Glenbrook North, Loyola, Mather, Niles North, and Northside College Prep. Niles North and Glenbrook North tied for first with 97 points. Northside College Prep finished in third place with 71 points and posted victories over Loyola (49) and Mather (46).
In the Pole Vault, Alyssa Sockol tied for fourh place with Niles North Sumo with a vault of 6'0.
In the Long Jump, Northside Junior Gayatri Satam finished in second place with a jump of 13'5.25. Gayatri Satam was awarded an Invitational Long Jump T-shirt for placing second overall. Maria Zdunek finished in fourth place with a jump of 12'9.5.
In the Triple Jump, Gayatri Satam finished in third place with a jump of 29'5.5. Gayatri Satam was awarded an Invitational Triple Jump T-shirt for placing third overall.
In the High Jump, Northside Senior Prucnal tied for fourth place with Glenbrook North's Kelsey with a jump of 4'4.
In the Shot Put, Northside Senior Alyssa Anderson threw 29'10.5 to place third overall. Anderson was awarded an Invitational Shot Put T-shirt for placing third overall. Senior Courtney Konow threw a personal best 29'7 to place fourth overall.
In the Discus, Northside Senior Kelly Varney thrw 72'5 to place fourth overall. Northside Senior Alyssa Anderson threw 64'3 to place sixth overall.
In the 4x800m Relay, Northside finished in fourth place with an outstanding time of 11:34.
In the 3200m Run, Mather's Rodriguiz won it with a time of 12:27. Northside Junior Ani Zotti finished in second place with a time of 12:53. Ani Zotti was awarded a Invitational 3200m 2nd Place T-shirt for finishing in second overall. Loyola O'malley finished in third place with a time of 13:27. Loyola's Skower finished in fourth place with a time of 13:40.
In the 100m Hurdles, Kelly Varney ran a time of 19.0 to place fourth overall. Lynette Ardies ran a time of 20.05 to place sixth overall.
In the 100m Dash, Maria Zdunek ran a time of 14.80 to place fourth overall. Kristiana Prucnal ran a time of 15.2 to place fifth overall.
In the 800m run, Bessie Nolan ran a time of 2:46 to place fifth overall.
In 4x100m Relay, Northside finished in third place with a 59.30. All members of the Relay were awarded Invitational 4x100m Relay T-Shirts for finishing third overall.
The remaining events were canceled due to lightning.
