On Saturday, April 26, 2008, the Northside College Prep Sophomore-Freshman Boys Track & Field Team traveled to historic Walter Eckersall Memorial Stadium on the corner of 82nd Street and Yates in Chicago, Illinois for the CPS Sophomore-Freshman Boys City Championship Qualifying Meet.

Eckersall attended Hyde Park High School, and ran rings around opponents on the football field. He lead his high school team to a 105-0 victory for the National Championship against Brooklyn Tech. Fifthteen year old Knute Rockne sneaked into the park to see it.
