On Saturday, February 25, 2017, Northside Alumni legend Mac Melto helped Depaul WIN the first BIG EAST TEAM Title in the history of the school. Melto has 5 BIG East individual and/or relay Titles during his collegiate career, but this is the first Indoor TEAM title. Melto competed in the 400m and 4x400m Relay at the NCAA Division I Big East Conference Championships. After Medical hardship during his Senior year of college, DePaul awarded Melto a full scholarship for graduate school, and his comeback has been awesome.
Northside Alumni legend and All State Hurdler Justin Washington is competing in multiple events for Carleton College during his first Indoor Collegiate Track and Field season. On January 20, 2017, Justin Washington helped Carleton WIN the 4x400m Relay and has a 52.83 400m season best time. Washington also finished in second place in the 55m High Hurdles with a 8.46. Washington ran a season best 200m of 23.98 at the Ted Nelson Classic on February 4, 2017. Washington has run the 60m High Hurdles in a personal best time of 9.18.
Northside Alumni legend and All State miler, Danny Rosen, ran a personal best 3000m time of 8:57.83 on February 11, 2017 in Califronia, and helped the Pomona Distance Medley Relay to a 10:48.96 at the Rossi Relays on February 25, 2017. On March 4, 2017, Danny Rosen WON the 3000m Steeplechase wih an official time of 9:50.68.
Northside Alumni legend Tom Frejowski, ran a season best 23.09 200m dash for MIT at Boston University on February 10, 2017. More recently, Tom Frejowski helped the MIT 4x400m Relay in the New England Indoor Conference Track & Field Championships, and has a season best 400m of 50.33.
