Brian McManus WINS Sportsmanship Award

Posted by Jon Gordon on May 31 2016 at 05:00PM PDT

Good Sportsmanship is beneficial to an athlete throughout their life. Athletes that you compete against in High School, you will see again throughout the rest of your careers, in college, road races, in business, and in life.

Second, take an interest in teammates, and they will take an interest in you. After you have completed your event, it is always important to get around and support your teammates. Having your teammates around the Track cheering you on in a stadium has a major effect on the outcome of the races. The more honor and respect among athletes, the greater the TEAM. The best athletes help others; be best athletes.

The winner of the 2016 Sportsmanship Award is BRIAN MCMANUS.

In addition to his outstanding sportsmanship, Brian McManus is a great athlete and an outstanding leader for the Northside Track & Field TEAM.

From Freshman Year (11:52.90) to Junior Year (10:58.00), Brian McManus dropped 54 seconds in the 3200m run.

From Freshman Year (5:38.00) to Junior Year (4:51.53), Brian McManus dropped 47 seconds in the 1600m run.

From Freshman Year (2:25.49) to Junior Year (2:11.08), Brian Mcmanus dropped 14 seconds in the 800m run.

In 2016, Brian McManus earned a MEDAL in the 1600m run at the IHSA Sectional Championships, and QUALIFIED for STATE in the 4x800m Relay.
