Northside edges Lake Forest in the 4x800m Relay at Spartan Relays! Max McCoy runs personal best 4x800m split of 2:08.45 on the first leg of the relay!
In the 4x800m Relay, Northside edged Lake Forest (9:17.40) with an official time of 9:04.50. Northside Senior Max McCoy had a BIG day! Max McCoy ran the first 400m in 60 SECONDS, and then ran the next 400m in 68.45 seconds for a PERSONAL BEST 800m split of 2:08.45, and made a nice exchange to Gabriel Jiminez-Ekhman. Max McCoy passed Alumni legend Joseph Terdik, Brandon Cooper, and Danny Garcia for the 14th fastest 800m time in Northside history! Max McCoy is now on the Northside All Time list in the 1600m, 3200m, and the 800m!
Northside Senior Gabriel Jimenez-Ekman is an incredible athlete, and has competed in every relay for the Chicago Northside Mustangs during his high school athletic career, including the 4x100m, 4x200m, and 4x400m Relays. Gabriel Jimenez-Ekman is also one of the Mustangs top sprinters in the 100m and 200m dash. Gabriel Jiminez-Ekman helped put the Mustangs distance squad over the top at Spartan Relays. Gabriel Jimenez-Ekman ran the first 400m in 66 SECONDS, and then ran the final 400m in 74 SECONDS for a PERSONAL BEST 800m split of 2:20.69, and made a nice exchange to Brendan Powers.
