On Wednesday, February 18, 2015, the Northside College Prep Varsity Mens and Sophomore-Freshman Boys Track Team traveled to Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, Illinois for the Spartan Indoor Classic.

The Spartan Indoor Classic featured Central Suburban league powers, Maine West, Highland Park, and host Glenbrook North.

The meet was completed very efficiently, and had non-stop action on the Track, which put the crowd on their feet at all times, and created a fun atmosphere for all participating Teams. A special thanks to Glenbrook North Head Coach Scott Lasky, Coaches Steve Gross, and John Byrne for hosting an outstanding meet.

It was also a very friendly atmosphere as several reunions took place throughout the meet. Northside Head Coach Jon Gordon attended Glenbrook North from 1986-1990, and is a member of their athletic college wall of fame.

The meet was scored only on the Varsity level, in an effort to provide non-stop action on the track. The following point scale was used for individual events: 6-4-3-2-1, and 6-4-2 was used for scoring relays.

Prior to the meet, Northside promoted Sophomores Kyle Friedler, Alex Ortiz, Sergio Soto, and Jacob Cosby to the Varsity TEAM. The roster moves had a major impact on the outcome of the meet, as Friedler, Ortiz, Soto, and Cosby ALL had BIG days and scored huge points for the Varsity TEAM.

The bench mark for elite high school milers is the five minutes barrier. In 2014, Northside had 3 athletes break the five minutes barrier during the Indoor season. In 2015, Northside has already had 5 athletes break the five minutes barrier during the Indoor season!

The maximum amount of points a Team can score in a single event in a Track & Field meet with four teams is 16 points. Northside scored 13 points in the 1600m run at the Glenbrook North Spartan Indoor Classic, by finishing in 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th!
