Lucien Fitpzatrick finishes in SECOND place in the 55m Hurdles with personal best time of 8.20! Adrian Black finishes in THIRD place in the 3200m run!

 In the 55m Hurdles, Morgan Park Senior Brandon Riley won it with an official time of 8.09. Northside Senior Lucien Fitzpatrick dropped 0.11 of a second (8.31) to finish in SECOND place with a PERSONAL BEST time of 8.20. Lucien Fitzpatrick earned All City Honors and was awarded a MEDAL for finishing in second place. Lucien Fitzpatrick will be competing for the Oberlin College Track & Field Team in 2015. Fitzpatrick was recently awarded the John Frederick Oberlin scholarship, and the Stamps scholarship. Fitzpatrick will be the third athlete in the history of Northside to compete for the Oberlin College Track & Field Team. Northside Alumni legends Santino Merino and Courtney Konow both competed for Oberlin.

 Dunbar Senior Carzelle Elicke finished in third place with an outstanding time of 8.30. North Lawndale Senior Tommy Jackson finished in fourth place with an outstanding time of 8.49. Kenwood Academy Junior Tumani Simmons finished in fifth place with an official time of 8.60. Whitney Young Junior Nathan Taylor finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 8.75. Northside Sophomore Garret Barch hurdled a personal best time of 10.89.

 Northside Hall of Fame Hurdles and Jumps Coach Ed Wallace has increased the Mustangs roster to ten athletes competing in the 110m and 300m hurdles for the upcoming Outdoor season. It is the most hurdlers in the history of the program.

 In the 3200m run, the top three seeds featured Mather Senior Zade Kudich (9:58.63), Whitney Young Sophomore phenom Sam Wischnewsky (10:19.70), and Lincoln Park Senior Michael Stubna. Stubna is a great athlete, and once beat the entire Northside Team at an off-season cross country race (Border Wars) in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Whitney Young Ryan Wangman was seeded fourth. Northside Junior Adrian Black was seeded fifth with a season best time of 10:40.30. Northside Senior Cesar Rufino was seeded sixth with a season best time of 10:56.43.

 Whitney Young Sophomore Sam Wischnewsky dropped 25 seconds (10:19.70) to win 2014 Indoor City Title in the 3200m run with an official time of 9:54.05. Mather Senior Zade Kudich finished in second place with an official time of 10:13.89. Northside Junior Adrian Black dropped 13 seconds (10:40.30) to finish in THIRD place with a season best time of 10:27.06. Adrian Black earned All City Honors and was awarded a MEDAL for placing third overall! Adrian Black ran an outstanding race, and secured vital points for Northside. Adrian Black ran the first mile in 5:08, and then ran the final mile in 5:19 for a season best time of 10:27.06. Lincoln Park Senior Michael Stubna finished in fourth place with an outstanding time of 10:29.02. Northside Senior Cesar Rufino dropped 16 seconds (10:56.43) for a season best time of 10:40.10. It was also the fastest indoor 3200m run time of his high school career. Northside Junior Adrian Black and Senior Cesar Rufino were outstanding at the Indoor City Championships.

 In the 55m Dash, Northside featured Sophomore Philip Wdowiak. Philip Wdowiak is a great athlete, and competes in three sports, soccer, hockey, and Track. Wdowiak ran an impressive 6.09 50 yards dash at the Bison Fenton Indoor Classic, and earned a Varsity letter in his first Track meet. At the Indoor City Championships, he ran a personal best 55 meters time of 7.32. It was the second fastest 55m dash time run by a Northside athlete this season. He also finished among the top three Sophomores in the Indoor City Championships. Philip Wdowiak is a great addition to the Team, and will have a huge impact for the Mustangs in Sprints and the 4x100m Relay during the outdoor season. Northside Junior Calvin Kuhnen dropped 0.20 of a second (7.79) for a PERSONAL BEST time of 7.59. It was the fifth fastest 55m dash time run by a Northside athlete this season. Calvin Kuhnen is having a great season.
