In the Varsity 1600m run, Northside Junior Malcolm Grba ran the first 800m in 2:18, and then ran the final 800m in 2:25 for a PERSONAL BEST time of 4:43.04 to WIN the 1600m run!! It was the second fastest time ever run by a Northside athlete on the Niles West 160m Track. Malcolm Grba also passed Northside Alumni legend Cooper Eben (4:44, 2010) for the ninth fastest 1600m time in the history of Northside.

Northside Junior Adrian Black winter training was outstanding. However, a couple of days before the first official practice of the season (January 20), he injuried his hip, and has been on a stationary bike for the past 18 days. Adrian Black was recently cleared to start running again, and Northside entered him in the 1600m run on Friday, to use it as a Time Trial to help plan his future goal paces for track workouts. Adrian Black ran the first 800m in 2:34, and then ran the final 800m in 2:41 for an outstanding time of 5:15.7.

Northside Senior Alex Gordon ran the first 800m in 2:40, and then ran the final 800m in 2:56 for an outstanding time of 5:36.3. Alex Gordon had impressive Cross Country workouts in the Fall, and has the potential to break the five minutes barrier this season.

In the Varsity 200m Dash, Northside Junior Calvin Kuhnen ran an outstanding time of 28.50.
