In the Varsity 1600m run, Highland Park's Jonah Hanig won it with an official time of 4:31.50. Highland Park's Angel Estrada finished in second place with an official time of 4:31.90. New Trier's Ted Oh finished in third place with an official time of 4:34.90. Grayslake North's Ryan Bruder finished in fourth place with an official time of 4:38.50. Northside Senior Patrick Brennan ran his best race of the season, and is closing in on the School Record. Patrick Brennan ran the first 400m in 65 seconds, and then ran the next 400m in 70 seconds (2:15 800m), and then ran the next 400m in 72 seconds (3:27 1200m), and then ran the final 400m in a NEGATIVE split of 71 seconds to finish in fifth place with an official time of 4:38.90. Patrick Brennan was awarded a MEDAL for finishing in fifth place overall. New Trier's Ethan Kaplan finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 4:40.40. Mather Junior Deivi Tahraji finished in seventh place with an official time of 4:48.00. Larkin's Cameron Powers finished in eighth place with an official time of 4:57.10. Northside Junior Cesar Rufino ran an outstanding race. Cesar Rufino ran the first 400m in 67 seconds, and then ran the next 400m in 76 seconds (2:23 800m), and then ran the next 400m in 80 seconds (3:43 1200m), and then ran the final 400m in a NEGATIVE split of 76 seconds to finish in ninth place with an outstanding time of 4:59.70. Mather's Dontel Payne finished in tenth place with an official time of 5:05.30. Grayslake North's Jake Hensley finished in eleventh palce with an official time of 5:13.20.
