On Tuesday, April 9, 2013, Northside Varsity Men's Track & Field Team traveled to Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, Illinois for the Spartan Classic.

The meet featured Deerfield High School, Northside College Prep, and host Glenbrook North.

It was a very friendly atmosphere as several reunions took place throughout the meet. Northside Head Coach Jon Gordon attended Glenbrook North from 1986-1990, and is a member of their athletic college wall of fame.

The meet was completed very efficiently, in less than 2 hours, and had non-stop action on the Track, which put the crowd on their feet at all times, and created a fun atmosphere for all participating Teams. The sound system at William Lutz Stadium was also fantastic.

A special thanks to Glenbrook North Head Coach Scott Lasky, and Assistant Coaches Steve Gross and John Byrne, for hosting an outstanding meet.

In an effort to provide non-stop action on the track, the meet was scored only on the Varsity level.

Temperatures dropped during the meet from 42 degrees to 29 degrees with the wind chill, and final results weren't tabulated until after the meet.

Former NCAA National Champion Dave Valentine was in attendance, and gave great praise to Northside for their outstanding performances in the Spartan Classic.
