KING of the QUARTER and SHOT PUT, Saturday, January 20, 2018 at North Park University Indoor Track & Field Stadium

Posted by Jon Gordon on Jan 11 2018 at 04:00PM PST

The entire Marist Track and Field Team will have a 400m Time Trial and Shot Put Competition on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 7:30 am - 10:00 am at North Park University Indoor Track & Field Stadium.

Athletes will meet with the coaching staff at 6:30 am for heat assignments, at the main entrance of Marist before bus departure to North Park University Indoor Track and Field Stadium.

Team Captains will lead the Team on a warm-up run in the Indoor Track & Field Stadium.

The Time Trial is MANDATORY. All Athletes must be able to finish a 400m Time Trial to be on the TEAM. Uniforms will NOT be issued to any athletes that miss the Time Trial for any reason. Thanks.

The Time Trial will help determine our initial Varsity, Junior Varsity, Sophomore, and Freshman 4x400m Relay Teams.

The King of the Quarter and Shot Put competition gives Marist athletes an appreciation for each others events, and makes the TEAM stronger.

The distance runners also benefit from the 400m Time Trial, by learning their maximum quarter speed. With the knowledge of their maximum quarter speed, the coaching staff is able to provide proper racing strategy for the 800m run, and other races.

Athletes will meet at the MAIN ENTRANCE of Marist at 6:30 am for bus departure to the Indoor Stadium at North Park University. The Indoor Stadium is located on the corner of Kedzie and Carmen ave in Chicago, Illinois. Thanks.

A public address announcer will introduce the contestants and announce the results of each 400m heat. There will also be a Starter with a starter's pistol and official timers for all of the 400m heats.

Gatorade and water will be provided for all Athletes. ENGRAVED MEDALS will be AWARDED to the Top 3 Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshman Athletes in the 400m Dash and Shot Put.
