Northside Freshman Louis Koll and Lucien Fitzpatrick jump 5'7 at IHSA Sectionals! Freshman Henry Lothschutz throws 83'09!

 On Thursday, May 19, 2011, the Northside Varsity Men Track & Field Team traveled to Niles West High School in Skokie, Illinois for the IHSA Sectional Championships!

 It was the Mustangs best meet of the season. The Mustangs broke multiple school records, and almost every athlete ran a season best or personal best time.

  Niles North won the IHSA Sectional Title. Northside picked up a victory over CPS rival Mather, and closed the gap against Lane Tech. Northside will have a final rematch against Lane Tech at the State Championships. Northside finished in 12th place in the Sectional with 12 points, and posted victories over 13. Maine East (7 points), 14. Notre Dame (4 points), 15. Mather (2 points), Von Steuben (2 points), 17. Maine West (1 point), 18. Glenbrook North (0 points), 19. St. Patrick (0 points), 20. Taft (0 points), 21. Foreman (0 points), 22. Lincoln Park (0 points), 23. Schurz (0 points), and 24. Clemente (0 points). Northside had a record of 12-11 on the day. 

 Northside has a season record of 130-42 going into the IHSA State Championships! It is the best record in the history of the Northside Track & Field program!

 In the Shot Put, Northside Senior Allen Tu threw an outstanding 33'01.25. Northside Senior Ottmar Flores was dismissed from the squad for failing to attend practices the week of the IHSA Sectional Championships. 

 In the Discus, Northside Senior Allen Tu threw an outstanding 84'10. Northside Freshman Henry Lothschutz dedication to practice and hard work paid off. Lothschutz improved by 7'0 with a personal best throw of 83'09. 

 In the High Jump, Northside Freshman Louis Koll jumped a personal best 5'7! Northside Freshman Lucien Fitzpatrick also jumped a personal best 5'7! Koll and Fitzpatrick were the top freshman in the Sectional!
